Our project partners with Singapore General Hospital (SGH) to address the shortage of porters, leading to uncertain delivery times for blood components. We are developing an autonomous solution to streamline blood transportation, reducing wait times and ensuring efficient and secure delivery. By integrating advanced technologies, our system navigates the hospital environment, adheres to safety protocols, and frees up porters for essential patient care. Our goal is to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care at SGH.

A new way to experience and play music

The aim of studio, "Shape of Sound", was to explore innovative methods of playing instruments. OIO is a unique musical instrument that utilizes physical discs containing music layers, allowing for the mixing of various tracks. By introducing this novel approach, OIO revolutionizes the way we experience and engage with music, offering a fresh and immersive musical experience.

  • Interactive sound-playing prototype
  • Integrated PN532 RFID reader, NTAG 213 tags, mouse micro switches, Raspberry Pi 3B+, and breadboard.
  • Local storage of sound files (WAV, MP3, OGG) on Raspberry Pi using pygame library.

Creative application of concepts covered in module: Typeracer game

FPGA Project

I successfully completed an FPGA project that integrated a keyboard with a PMOD screen to enable free typing. Additionally, I implemented a Typeracer game with a fixed phrase, displaying the words per minute (WPM) on a seven-segment display upon completion. The system highlighted incorrect keystrokes in red and displayed correctly typed letters in green, providing an engaging and interactive typing experience.

Our project focused on creating an autonomous search and mapping robot named "Alex." We utilized LiDAR navigation technology to facilitate exploration and mapping of uncharted areas. This endeavor encompassed the integration of diverse technologies, enabling Alex to efficiently undertake the designated tasks. Moreover, this project provided us with valuable experience in navigating and piloting using laser mapping techniques.

Key Highlights:

  • Attained the second fastest completion time for accurate mapping of the testing area.
  • Integrated LiDAR, ROS and Hector SLAM to create a capable robot for the task.
  • Fine tuning movement of ALEX to allow a clear and distortion free map to be built

Our project focused on enhancing the capabilities of the mBot robot through the implementation of specialized algorithms. We successfully incorporated color sensing, movement control, and IR proximity sensing, allowing the mBot to navigate and interact with its environment more effectively.
